Taken from her 2018 debut album Empress, musician Ray BLK—real name Rita Ekwere—has released ‘Paradise’, a new track written in dedication to a dear friend of hers. The song brings Ray’s personal experience of loss to the heart of the release, with its emotional message that will be sure to resonate with many listeners. “Hope we meet again/Where the streets paved of gold/And we never get old”, she sings.
The release has been partnered alongside a set of black and white visuals, which feature Ray and a live band performing on an estate in Peckham, adding more of her well-represented South London roots to her work.
