After fulfilling our needs for a summertime banger this year, and completely owning it. Hackney-based quartet Rudimental have gone and blown up every expectation we had, after the success of their last release and completely smashed it all over again. Their new no doubt future hit ‘Not Giving In‘ once again features the amazing soulful vocals of John Newman, as well as singer songwriter Alex Clare who also made a huge mark on the music scene this year with his world wide hit ‘Too Close’.
The gripping video to this track also has much more behind it than meets the eye. Directed by photographer Josh Cole. The video is based on the life of a break-dancer named Mouse, who grew up in the slums of Manila. The video shows two sides of his story by portraying an older brother, who follows a less fortunate path. Which could have been the fate of Mouse, had he not found dance. While Mouse’s brother is not dead, however, he has been pulled under and lost to the world of drugs and addiction.
By telling his story Mouse hopes to inspire others to follow the right path.
