Woo, there is nothing quite like a good music announcement to brighten up a day, is there? Well we can fully thank Radio 1 for our rev of excitement today, as they have announced the full line-up for their Big Weekend and it looks incredible.
The two-date showcase, which takes stage in Hull on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th May, sees Katy Perry, Emeli Sandé and Imagine Dragons amongst those headlining the main stage on Saturday. As well as a brilliant line-up performing on the Where It Begins stage, including Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, JP Cooper and a much awaited comeback from Plan B, who is soon set to be releasing his first delivery of new material since 2012’s ‘Ill Manors’.
On Sunday, the main stage consists of performances from the likes of Kings of Leon, Stormzy, Bastille and Clean Bandit. With the Where It Begins stage hosting acts including Royal Blood, Alt-J and Anne-Marie.
The tickets for Radio 1’s Big Weekend went on sale last week, and sold out within the first hour (!) — congrats to those who are going! However, if you didn’t manage to get your hands on any, then stay tuned into Radio 1 as they will likely be running competitions in the run up to the event. They will also be live streaming the weekends performances too.
